FAQs
What material is the costume made of?
The Smiffys Elephant Costume is crafted from durable polyester, which is common for costume wear to ensure it holds its shape.
Can this be machine washed?
It is highly recommended to hand wash or spot clean only to prevent damage to the 3D features like the trunk and ears.
Is the trunk floppy or does it stand up?
The trunk is designed with 3D detailing that allows it to maintain its shape while being soft enough to be safe for children.
Does this size fit all children?
This specific set is sized for UK size 4; please check a standard UK size chart to ensure it aligns with your child's measurements.
Is the hood detachable?
The hood is typically integrated into the design to ensure the complete elephant aesthetic is maintained throughout wear.
Troubleshooting
Zip getting stuck
Ensure no fabric is caught in the track and rub a lead pencil tip along the teeth to act as a dry lubricant.
Hood slipping over eyes
Adjust the fit by using a small piece of fabric tape or safety pin at the back of the neck to secure it more snugly.
3D ears looking flat
Gently massage the stuffing inside the ears to redistribute the fill and help them stand upright again.

Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure the costume remains in good condition, always check the interior label for specific washing instructions. Generally, spot cleaning with a damp cloth is recommended for the 3D features like the trunk and ears to prevent them from losing their shape. The suit is designed to be worn over light base layers if extra warmth is needed. Store the costume on a child-sized hanger to prevent the hood and 3D ears from becoming crushed or misshapen in a closet.
