Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup & Lacing
Your Astromel Platforms come with two sets of laces to customize your look and fit.
- Choose Your Laces: Select between the `satin laces` for a fashion moment or the `flat ticked laces` for a more secure, everyday fit.
- Thread Laces: Carefully thread your chosen laces through the eyelets. Ensure the laces are evenly distributed for a balanced look.
- Adjust for Comfort: Tie the laces to your desired snugness. The padded tongue will help provide a comfortable, cushioned feel.
Compatibility & Styling
These platforms are designed to be a versatile addition to your wardrobe, complementing a range of outfits:
- Casual Chic: Pair with jeans (cropped, straight-leg, or wide-leg), leggings, or casual skirts.
- Smart Casual: Combine with tailored trousers, midi dresses, or sophisticated jumpsuits to add an unexpected, modern edge.
- Seasonal Versatility: Suitable for year-round wear, though specific care is needed in wet conditions.
Care & Maintenance
Proper care will ensure your UGG Astromel Platforms maintain their appearance and longevity.
- Initial Protection: Before your first wear, treat the `suede` areas with a high-quality water and stain repellent specifically formulated for suede and nubuck materials. Repeat periodically.
- Cleaning Suede: For light dirt, use a soft suede brush to gently brush in one direction to remove dust and restore the nap. For tougher stains, use a dedicated suede cleaner following the product's instructions. Avoid rubbing vigorously, as this can damage the suede.
- Cleaning Nylon/Textile: For the `nylon` and recycled `textile` sections, gently wipe with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap, then blot dry with a clean cloth. Allow to air dry completely.
- Drying: If your shoes get wet, stuff them with paper towels to help absorb moisture and maintain their shape. Allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature, away from direct heat or sunlight.
- Storage: Store your platforms in a cool, dry place, ideally in a shoe bag or box, to protect them from dust and light.
- Avoid: Do not machine wash, tumble dry, or use harsh chemical cleaners, as these can damage the materials.
