Setup, Compatibility & Care
Initial Setup:
While the bike comes mostly assembled, professional final assembly and safety checks are highly recommended to ensure optimal performance and safety. This typically includes:
- Handlebar Alignment: Securing the handlebars to the stem.
- Pedal Installation: Ensuring pedals are correctly installed (left and right specific).
- Brake and Gear Adjustment: Fine-tuning brakes and gear shifting for precise operation.
- Tire Inflation: Inflating tires to the recommended pressure indicated on the tire sidewall.
Compatibility:
- Frame Mounts: The frame is equipped with mounts for racks and mudguards, allowing for easy customization. Ensure accessories purchased are compatible with standard bike mounting systems.
- Tire Clearance: While the bike comes with 700x42mm tires, the frame and fork generally offer clearance for similar or slightly wider tires, depending on tread pattern.
Care and Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the bike frame, drivetrain, and components with mild soap and water. Avoid high-pressure washers, especially near bearings.
- Lubrication: Keep the chain lubricated with appropriate bike chain oil. Reapply after riding in wet conditions.
- Brake Checks: Periodically inspect brake pads for wear and ensure rotors are clean. Have hydraulic brakes bled if performance diminishes.
- Tire Pressure: Maintain recommended tire pressure for optimal performance and to prevent pinch flats.
- Storage: Store the bike in a dry place, away from extreme temperatures or direct sunlight, to prevent corrosion and material degradation.
