Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure the boots are laced securely but comfortably. Start lacing from the bottom eyelets, pulling each section taut but not overly tight. A double knot is recommended for active play to prevent laces from coming undone.
- Initial Wear: For the first few wears, it is recommended to use the boots during light training or practice sessions to allow them to break in and conform to your child's foot shape.
Compatibility
- Surfaces: These boots are designed for Firm Ground (FG), which includes natural grass pitches, and Multi-Ground (MG), making them suitable for artificial turf as well. Avoid using them on extremely hard ground or indoor courts, as this can damage the studs and reduce performance.
- Sizing: The Nike Mercurial Vapor 16 Club is available in children's sizes, such as UK 3. Always refer to Nike's official sizing guide to ensure the best fit, as sizes can vary.
Care Instructions
Proper care extends the life and performance of your football boots:
- Cleaning After Use: Immediately after each use, remove loose dirt and mud from the upper and soleplate. Use a soft brush or a damp cloth to gently wipe down the entire boot.
- Deep Cleaning: For more stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution with a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubbers, which can damage the synthetic leather.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct sunlight or use artificial heat sources (like radiators or hairdryers), as this can cause the material to crack or deform.
- Storage: Store the boots in a cool, dry place. Placing crumpled newspaper inside can help absorb moisture and maintain their shape.
- Avoid Submerging: Do not submerge the entire boot in water.
