Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: The Adistar Cushion features a traditional lace-up closure. Adjust the laces to achieve a snug yet comfortable fit around your foot. Ensure they are not too tight to prevent discomfort or too loose to prevent slipping.
- First Wear: Wear your new sneakers for short periods initially to allow them to conform to your feet and for you to get accustomed to their feel and support.
Compatibility
- Apparel: These sneakers are versatile and complement a wide range of casual and smart-casual attire, including jeans, chinos, shorts, and even some relaxed tailoring. Their distinct design makes them a statement piece.
- Activities: Best suited for daily wear, urban exploration, light walking, and standing. While running-inspired, they are optimized for comfort and style rather than high-intensity athletic performance.
Care & Maintenance
Taking proper care of your Adistar Cushion sneakers will help maintain their appearance and extend their lifespan.
- Cleaning the Upper: Due to the mix of leather, nubuck, mesh, nylon, and suede:
- Leather/Nylon/Mesh: Gently wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh scrubbing.
- Nubuck/Suede: Use a specialized suede/nubuck brush to remove dry dirt and restore the nap. For tougher spots, a suede eraser can be effective. Avoid water or liquid cleaners directly on these materials unless specifically designed for them.
- Cleaning the Sole: Use a brush or damp cloth with mild soap to clean the rubber tread sole, removing any dirt or debris.
- Drying: Always allow your sneakers to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, as these can damage materials, especially leather and nubuck.
- Protection: Consider applying a protective spray specifically designed for mixed-material sneakers, especially for the nubuck and suede sections, to help repel water and stains.
- Storage: Store your sneakers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape.
