The Primrose Solar Drip Irrigation Kit is an ideal solution for container gardeners, balcony owners, and greenhouse enthusiasts who need a reliable, automated way to maintain consistent soil moisture. By utilizing solar power, this system eliminates the need for mains electricity or manual daily watering, making it perfect for busy routines or maintaining plant health while away. A primary caveat is that the system relies on adequate sunlight to keep the rechargeable batteries powered, which may require careful placement of the control unit in areas with consistent sun exposure.

No, you must provide your own water reservoir, such as a water butt or a large bucket.
The kit is designed for 10 drippers; adding more may exceed the pump's capacity and reduce overall water pressure.
The rechargeable batteries are designed for long-term use, provided they are kept charged by the solar panel during the day.
The system should be brought indoors during winter months to prevent damage from freezing water or extreme temperatures.
Place the unit in direct sunlight; the internal circuitry will handle the charging process automatically.
While intended for gardens and balconies, it can work indoors if the solar panel is placed in a window receiving sufficient direct sunlight.
Ensure the rechargeable batteries are correctly installed and have had enough time in the sun to charge.
Adjust the individual flow control on each dripper; ensure the hose is not kinked or pinched by heavy pots.
Check the water level in your reservoir and ensure the inlet hose is fully submerged; check for airlocks in the line.
To set up the system, first position the control unit in a place that receives at least 6-8 hours of direct sunlight. Connect the hose to your chosen water reservoir and run the tubing to your containers, cutting the hose to fit between each plant using the tee couplings. Insert the drippers into the ground spikes and position them in the soil near the plant roots. Ensure the non-return valve is installed correctly to maintain water pressure. For maintenance, periodically flush the lines to prevent mineral buildup and check the nozzles for clogs every few weeks. If the system will not be used during winter, it is recommended to drain the water from the hose and store the control unit indoors to protect the battery and internal pump components.
