Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Setting up your Keter Darwin Shed requires some planning and attention to detail.
- Foundation: Before assembly, ensure you have a solid, level foundation in place. The minimum recommended foundation size is `183 x 244 cm`. A concrete slab, paved area, or a robust wooden deck are suitable options. An uneven foundation can lead to assembly difficulties and affect the shed's structural integrity and door alignment.
- Assembly Team: It is strongly recommended that two people perform the assembly. The large panels can be unwieldy for a single person.
- Assembly Time: Allocate approximately 3 to 4 hours for the complete assembly process. This estimate can vary based on experience and adherence to instructions.
- Tools: Have basic household tools ready, such as a Phillips screwdriver, a rubber mallet, and a spirit level.
- Instructions: Carefully follow the step-by-step instructions provided in the manufacturer's manual. Identify all parts before beginning assembly.
Compatibility
The Keter Darwin Shed is designed for outdoor use and is compatible with various garden and patio environments. Its robust construction makes it suitable for all-season use, providing protection against the elements.
Care
Caring for your resin shed is straightforward, thanks to its durable material.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the shed exterior with mild soap and water, using a soft brush or cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
- Ventilation: Ensure the integrated vent remains clear of obstructions (e.g., leaves, debris) to maintain proper air circulation and prevent moisture build-up inside the shed.
- Door Maintenance: Check the double doors periodically for smooth operation. If they become stiff, a silicone-based lubricant can be applied to hinges. Ensure the lockable hasp functions correctly for security.
- Snow Removal: While designed to handle snow loads up to 75 kg/m2, in areas with heavy snowfall, it is advisable to gently clear excessive snow from the roof to prolong the shed's lifespan.
