Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Vans Old Skool 36 stay in top condition, follow these guidelines:
- Break-in Period: Like most vulcanized trainers, the shoes may feel stiff initially. Wear them for short durations indoors to allow the wool and rubber components to mold to your feet.
- Cleaning: Due to the wool upper, do not machine wash. Use a soft-bristled brush to remove surface dust. For localized stains, use a mild fabric-safe detergent diluted in water and a clean microfiber cloth. Gently dab—do not scrub harshly to avoid pilling the wool.
- Storage: Keep away from direct heat sources, such as radiators, which can warp the rubber foxing or shrink the wool material. Store in a cool, dry place.
- Weather: Avoid wearing in heavy rain or mud, as the wool is absorbent and difficult to clean once deeply soaked.
