No, these are specifically designed for turf (TF) surfaces. Using them on natural grass may lead to slipping due to the shorter stud pattern.
They feature a performance fit; if you prefer a bit more room, ensure you measure your child's feet accurately using a standard UK shoe sizing guide.
Wipe the upper with a damp cloth and gently remove any turf debris or rubber pellets from the outsole using a soft-bristle brush.
The Mercurial line is generally known for a streamlined, narrow profile. If your child has very wide feet, it may require a break-in period or trying a half-size up.
TF stands for Turf, indicating the outsole is specifically configured with small rubber studs for use on synthetic grass or carpet-style turf.
Ensure the outsole is free of caked-on rubber crumb from the turf, which can prevent the studs from making proper contact.
Check your sock thickness; wearing excessively thick socks can cause an improper fit. Ensure laces are tensioned evenly across the instep.
To get the most out of your Nike Mercurial Superfly 9 Academy TF, ensure the size provides a snug fit without being painful, as the material will break in slightly over time. For maintenance, clean the boots after every use by brushing off dried rubber pellets and debris from the outsole. Use a damp cloth to wipe the upper and allow the boots to air dry naturally away from direct heat sources like radiators, which can damage the synthetic materials and adhesive bonds. Avoid storing them in a sealed plastic bag, as moisture buildup can lead to material degradation.
