FAQs
Are these gloves suitable for everyday wear in cold weather?
These gloves are designed for extreme cold weather conditions and high-exertion activities. While they offer excellent protection, they may be too warm for casual, everyday wear in milder cold temperatures.
How do I ensure I get the right size?
Refer to the Sealskinz sizing guide, which typically involves measuring the circumference of your palm and the length of your hand. Selecting the correct size is crucial for optimal performance and comfort, especially for the Fusion Control technology.
Can I use these gloves for activities other than those listed?
Yes, the robust waterproofing, insulation, and dexterity make them suitable for various cold and wet outdoor pursuits, such as ice fishing, winter photography, or any activity where hand protection is paramount.
What is Primaloft Gold Insulation Bio?
Primaloft Gold Insulation Bio is a 100% recycled and biodegradable synthetic insulation that provides exceptional warmth without significant bulk, ideal for high-performance outdoor gear.
What is Fusion Control Technology?
Fusion Control is a unique bonding process that integrates the waterproof membrane, insulation, and inner lining of the glove. This eliminates slippage and bunching, providing a secure, comfortable fit with enhanced dexterity and control.
How do I wash and care for my insulated gloves?
Hand wash in cold water with mild soap, rinse thoroughly, and air dry away from direct heat. Avoid bleach, ironing, and dry cleaning to maintain the integrity of the materials and waterproof membrane.
What is the warranty on these gloves?
Please refer to the official Sealskinz website or the product packaging for specific warranty details, as these can vary by region and retailer.
Troubleshooting
Gloves feel too tight or restrictive
Ensure you have selected the correct size by consulting the sizing chart. For a slightly looser fit, try wearing very thin liner gloves underneath, though this may slightly reduce dexterity.
Waterproofing seems compromised
Inspect the glove for any tears or damage to the membrane or seams. Clean the gloves according to care instructions and ensure they are fully air-dried. For persistent issues, contact customer support.
Touchscreen functionality is not working
Ensure the touchscreen-sensitive areas (index finger and thumb) are clean and dry. Firm pressure may be required. If the issue persists, the conductive material may be damaged.
Hands are still cold despite wearing the gloves
Verify that the gloves are the correct size and not too tight, as this can restrict circulation. Ensure the gloves are fully dry before use. Consider that in extreme sub-zero temperatures, additional thermal liner gloves might be beneficial for prolonged exposure.
