Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Site Preparation: Choose a level, solid base for your kennel to ensure stability and proper drainage. A concrete slab or patio is ideal.
- Assembly: The kennel is supplied with all necessary fixings and instructions. Assembly typically requires two people and basic DIY tools (e.g., screwdriver, hammer, measuring tape). Follow the step-by-step guide provided. Ensure all panels are correctly interlocked for optimal weather sealing.
- Anchoring: Consider anchoring the kennel to the ground for added security, especially in windy areas.
Compatibility
This 10ft x 4ft kennel is suitable for most medium to large dog breeds. Ensure your dog has enough space to stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably in both the kennel and run sections. For multiple dogs, assess if the space is adequate for both to comfortably coexist.
Care
- Cleaning: Utilize the removable floor tiles for easy and thorough cleaning of the kennel section. Regularly sweep or hose down the run area. Use pet-safe disinfectants.
- Wood Maintenance: Although it comes with a 10-year anti-rot guarantee, periodically inspect the timber for any signs of wear. Applying a suitable wood treatment annually will further prolong its life and maintain its appearance.
- Mesh Inspection: Regularly check the mesh for any damage or signs of weakness to ensure your dog's continued security.
- Door Hardware: Lubricate hinges and latches as needed to ensure smooth operation.
