FAQs

Are the New Balance 9060 trainers good for running?

No, these are classified as lifestyle trainers. While they feature excellent cushioning, they are not designed for technical running or intensive athletics.

How do I maintain the suede upper?

Use a dedicated suede brush and avoid water. If the shoes get wet, let them air dry naturally away from heat sources.

Do these shoes run true to size?

Yes, they are generally true to size, but the structured design provides a snug, secure fit around the midfoot.

What is the difference between ABZORB and ABZORB SBS?

ABZORB is standard foam-based cushioning, while ABZORB SBS is a more durable, non-cellular version that provides enhanced energy return and shock absorption.

Are these shoes suitable for wide feet?

The 9060 has a generous midsole width, but the suede and mesh construction is structured, so individuals with very wide feet may prefer trying them on for a personal fit.

Troubleshooting

Suede material showing scuffs or dirt buildup

Use a dry, soft brush to buff the area in a consistent direction; avoid using water.

Feel that the shoe is too stiff upon first wear

The premium materials and supportive midsole require a brief 'break-in' period of 2-3 days of light walking.

Laces coming undone frequently

The laces are designed for a secure fit; ensure they are double-knotted if you prefer a tighter hold during extended walking.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent all-day comfort due to dual-cushioning tech
Bold, expressive design that stands out
High-quality construction using premium suede
Reliable traction on pavement and indoor surfaces

Cons

Chunky design may feel heavy to some users
Requires more effort to maintain suede texture
Not intended for technical sports performance

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your New Balance 9060 trainers remain in top condition, follow these care steps:

Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to gently remove surface dirt from the suede and mesh.
Stain Treatment: Apply a specialized suede cleaner rather than submerging the shoes in water, which can damage the nap.
Protection: Consider using a water and stain-repellent spray specifically formulated for suede before initial wear to protect against the elements.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the vibrant brown tones from fading over time.
Fit: These trainers generally run true to size, but the structured heel and sway bars provide a secure, locked-in feel that may feel slightly snug initially.
