The Alessi Vite Espresso Coffee Maker, designed by Philippe Malouin, is perfect for coffee enthusiasts who appreciate industrial design and the ritual of stovetop brewing. It offers the unique benefit of direct induction compatibility combined with a sculptural aesthetic, though users should note that the cast aluminium material requires careful manual maintenance compared to dishwasher-safe alternatives.

Yes, the Alessi Vite features a magnetic steel base specifically designed for induction compatibility.
No, it is not dishwasher safe. Hand wash only with mild soap to maintain the aluminium finish.
A medium-fine grind, similar to what you would use for other standard moka pots, is recommended.
The handle is designed to stay cooler than the metal body, though you should always use caution as it can become warm during extended brewing.
Remove the pot from the heat source immediately. This indicates the pressure is too high, likely due to too much heat or a blockage in the filter.
Ensure the top and bottom sections are screwed together tightly and check that the rubber gasket inside is clean and properly seated.
Use a lower heat setting and ensure you remove the pot from the stove immediately once the brewing process is complete.
Allow the unit to cool down completely before attempting to unscrew the chambers; thermal expansion can make the seal tighter while hot.
To keep your Alessi Vite in top condition, never put it in the dishwasher. Wash it by hand using warm water and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive sponges that could scratch the finish. Ensure the pot is completely dry before reassembling to prevent oxidation of the aluminium.
Before your first use, it is recommended to brew a 'test' batch of coffee and discard it to season the interior of the pot. Always ensure the threads are clean and the top chamber is screwed on firmly but not overtightened.
