Full details

This eXtreme Comfort Ltd Hybrid Mattress is designed for individuals seeking a balanced sleep experience with reliable support and pressure relief at an accessible price point. Its key benefit is the combination of an open coil spring system for robust support and a memory foam layer for contouring comfort, all wrapped in a breathable CoolTouch fabric. A potential consideration is its suitability for budget-conscious applications, meaning it excels in guest rooms or children's beds but may not offer the deep comfort of higher-end models.

FAQs

What is the main benefit of the hybrid design?

The hybrid design combines the supportive structure of an open coil spring system with the pressure-relieving comfort of memory foam, offering a balanced sleep experience.

How does the CoolTouch cover work?

The CoolTouch fabric is engineered with breathable fibers designed to help regulate body temperature, wicking away moisture and promoting airflow to prevent overheating during sleep.

Is this mattress suitable for heavy use?

This mattress is engineered as a high-value, budget-friendly option, making it ideal for children's beds, guest rooms, or spare rooms. For heavy daily use in a master bedroom, consider higher-end models with advanced spring systems.

What are the fire safety standards met by this mattress?

The mattress is handmade in the UK and meets BS7177:2008 domestic fire safety regulations, ensuring it adheres to strict safety requirements.

How long does it take for the mattress to fully expand?

After unboxing and unrolling, it typically takes several hours for the mattress to expand. For optimal results and comfort, it is recommended to let it rest for at least 24 hours before sleeping on it.

Can I use this mattress on a slatted bed frame?

Yes, this mattress is compatible with most bed frames, including slatted ones. Ensure the slats are no more than 7cm apart to provide adequate and even support.

What is the expected lifespan of this mattress?

The lifespan can vary based on usage, care, and individual preference. For its intended use in guest rooms or children's beds, it offers durable performance. Regular rotation and the use of a mattress protector will help extend its life.

Troubleshooting

Mattress has an uneven surface after unrolling.

Ensure the mattress has had sufficient time (up to 24-48 hours) to fully expand. If the issue persists, check for any packaging material that may have become trapped, and contact customer support if necessary.

Noticeable smell upon unboxing.

This is often a 'new mattress' smell from the manufacturing process. Ensure the room is well-ventilated and allow the mattress to air out for a few days. The smell should dissipate over time.

Mattress feels too firm or too soft.

Mattress feel can be subjective and dependent on sleep position and body weight. Allow at least 30 nights for your body to adjust. If issues persist, consider using a mattress topper for added comfort or check if the mattress is suitable for your sleeping style.

Slight noise from the coil springs.

Some minimal noise from the coil system can be normal, especially initially. Ensure the mattress is properly supported by the bed frame, as this can sometimes amplify minor noises.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Offers a blend of spring support and foam comfort.
  • Breathable cover helps manage sleep temperature.
  • Cost-effective solution for secondary sleeping areas.
  • Manufactured in the UK with safety compliance.
  • Easy to unbox and set up due to vacuum-sealed packaging.

Cons

  • May not provide the same level of deep contouring as all-foam mattresses.
  • The coil system might be less durable than pocket springs for heavy daily use.
  • Primarily positioned as a budget option, potentially lacking premium features.
  • Colour family is primarily yellow, which might not suit all aesthetics.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Your mattress arrives vacuum-sealed, rolled, and boxed for convenience.

  1. Carefully unbox the mattress on a flat surface, ideally the bed frame.
  2. Unroll the mattress.
  3. Allow the mattress to expand fully to its intended shape and size. This can take several hours, and it's recommended to let it rest for at least 24 hours before use to ensure full expansion and recovery.

Compatibility:

This mattress is compatible with most standard bed frames, including divan bases, slatted frames (with slats no more than 7cm apart), and ottoman bases. Ensure your bed frame provides adequate support to maintain the mattress's integrity.

Care:

  • Rotate the mattress head to foot and flip it over (if it's designed to be two-sided) every 3-6 months to ensure even wear.
  • To clean, use a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid harsh chemicals or soaking the mattress.
  • Use a mattress protector to guard against spills, stains, and wear.
