FAQs

What makes the Rubber Type S1 Skip more sustainable?

It's made from an advanced Rubber Type material, which is a more sustainable alternative to traditional recycled tyre rubber. Its UK manufacturing also uses energy-efficient molds and reduces transport emissions.

What is the capacity of this skip?

The Red Gorilla Rubber Type S1 Skip has a capacity of 11 litres.

Is this skip suitable for use in very cold weather?

Yes, the flexible Rubber Type material is designed to resist cracking even in harsh weather conditions. However, extreme cold may temporarily reduce its flexibility.

Can I use this skip for mixing concrete or mortar?

While the skip is durable and flexible, it's primarily designed for feed, light materials, and yard waste. For heavy-duty mixing of abrasive materials like concrete, a dedicated heavy-duty mixer might be more appropriate to prolong the life of this particular skip.

How do I best clean the skip?

Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

What are the dimensions of the 11-litre skip?

The dimensions are approximately H: 15cm x Dia 40cm.

Is the material food safe for animals?

The skip is designed for feeding animals and is made from materials suitable for this purpose. The smooth finish is also easy to clean, aiding hygiene.

Troubleshooting

Skip has a persistent odor

Clean thoroughly with a mild detergent and water. For stubborn odors, create a paste of baking soda and water, apply to the affected area, let sit for 30 minutes, then rinse and dry.

Material appears stiff in cold weather

While designed for flexibility, extreme cold can temporarily reduce it. Allow the skip to warm up indoors for a short period before heavy use. Avoid forceful impacts when the material is very cold.

Surface scratches or scuffs

Minor scratches and scuffs are cosmetic and do not typically affect the skip's functionality or durability. For aesthetic concerns, a mild cleaner may help reduce visibility.

Skip retains moisture or feels damp

Ensure the skip is fully dried after cleaning. Store it in a well-ventilated area. If water is used inside, turn it upside down to allow any trapped water to drain.

Compatibility: This product is compatible with standard yard and stable environments. It can be used with various materials including dry feed, water, soil, sand, tools, and debris. It is designed for use with most types of animal feed.

Care: To maintain the skip's condition and hygiene:

Cleaning: After each use, empty the skip completely. Wash with warm, soapy water using a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry, preferably out of direct, prolonged sunlight.
Storage: Store in a clean, dry area. Avoid storing heavy items on top of the skip, which could deform its shape.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the material.
Inspect Regularly: Check for any signs of wear and tear, especially around the handles (if applicable) or base.
