FAQs

Are these shoes suitable for wide feet?

The knit upper offers some natural stretch, but the Pegasus 42 generally fits true to size for standard foot widths.

Can these be machine washed?

It is not recommended to machine wash these trainers, as it can damage the cushioning and material integrity.

What age group is this shoe designed for?

These trainers are specifically designed for kids and are available in various children's sizes.

Are they good for running?

Yes, they feature responsive foam cushioning designed specifically to support running and athletic activities.

Is the material waterproof?

No, the polyester knit upper is designed for breathability rather than water resistance.

Troubleshooting

Laces coming undone frequently

Ensure a double knot is used, or replace with elastic laces if the child struggles with traditional tying.

Upper material looks dull after heavy use

Gently scrub the knit fabric with a mild detergent and water, then rinse carefully and let air dry.

Slipping on very smooth surfaces

Check the rubber outsole for debris or caked-on dirt that may be preventing the tread from gripping the ground.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure the longest life for your Nike Pegasus 42 trainers, follow these care steps:

Initial Fit: Ensure the child is wearing appropriate athletic socks when trying on the trainers to gauge the correct size and volume.
Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt from the knit upper. For deeper cleaning, spot clean with a damp cloth and a mild soap solution. Avoid using a washing machine, as the heat and agitation can degrade the foam and adhesive.
Drying: Always air dry at room temperature. Keep shoes away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can warp the materials.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place to prevent moisture buildup within the knit fabric.
