The Birkenstock Boston clog is a versatile, year-round footwear option designed for adults seeking a balance between professional utility and casual comfort. Featuring a signature anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed and a premium leather upper, it offers exceptional arch support and durability for daily wear. While these clogs provide unmatched ergonomic benefits, new owners should note that the stiff leather and structured footbed require a brief break-in period to contour perfectly to the foot.

Yes, the Boston clog is frequently worn with socks, especially in cooler weather, and it is a common way to break them in comfortably.
Your heel should rest comfortably in the heel cup, and your toes should have enough room to move slightly without hitting the front edge.
The leather upper and cork footbed are not waterproof. It is recommended to avoid heavy rain or puddles to maintain material integrity.
With proper care and regular cleaning, Birkenstock clogs are known for their longevity, often lasting several years of regular use.
While the footbed is designed to be very durable, it is best to consult a professional cobbler if you ever need to refurbish the sole or footbed.
Wear the clogs for short periods with socks to help the cork and leather soften and mold to your foot shape.
Ensure no leather debris or wax is clogging the buckle holes; use a soft brush to clear any obstructions.
Use a specialized leather eraser or soft brush; avoid submerging the clogs in water.
To maximize the life of your Birkenstock Boston clogs, keep them away from extreme heat sources like radiators, which can cause the cork footbed to dry out and crack. When cleaning the leather upper, use a soft, dry cloth or a specialized leather cleaner to remove debris. If the footbed becomes dirty, a mild damp cloth with diluted soap can be used, provided it is air-dried slowly away from direct sunlight. The strap should be adjusted so the foot stays securely in place without restricting circulation. If the leather feels stiff, wearing them with socks during the first few days can help accelerate the molding process.
