The Craghoppers Kiwi Pro II trousers are designed for adventurous adult hikers who prioritize agility and durability in the active outdoors. These technical walking trousers offer exceptional freedom of movement through a 4-way stretch fabric and provide built-in sun protection, though their lightweight construction is best suited for fair-to-mild weather conditions rather than extreme winter environments.

They are water-repellent thanks to the H2OShield finish, which is excellent for light rain and mist. However, they are not fully waterproof and will eventually soak through in heavy or prolonged downpours.
This means the fabric blocks 98% of the sun's UVA and UVB rays, providing a high level of protection for your skin during long periods of outdoor exposure.
These are primarily designed for technical summer or spring/autumn trekking. They are lightweight and breathable, so they may not provide sufficient insulation for sub-zero winter temperatures without a base layer.
Use a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Avoid fabric softeners and bleach, as these damage the technical properties of the stretch and water-repellent coatings.
The 4-way stretch material is designed to retain its shape even after extensive wear and washing.
The durable water-repellent (DWR) finish has likely worn off. Wash with a technical cleaner and apply a spray-on or wash-in DWR treatment.
Check that you are wearing the correct size. The Kiwi Pro II is designed for a streamlined, athletic fit; ensure you are not wearing the trousers too low on the hips, which can affect the articulation.
Because these trousers are technical gear, proper care will extend their lifespan. Always follow the garment's wash label; typically, this involves a machine wash on a cool setting. Avoid using fabric softeners, as these can strip the H2OShield water-repellent finish from the fibers. If the water-repellency begins to fail—where water soaks into the fabric rather than beading on the surface—you can rejuvenate the coating by using a technical gear wash-in re-proofer or a tumble dry on a low heat setting to reactivate the factory finish. Ensure you verify your waist sizing for a correct fit, as the athletic cut is designed to sit comfortably at the waist without needing constant adjustment.
