Setup and Application Guidelines:
- Prepare the Surface: Ensure the surface is completely clean, dry, and smooth. Remove any dust, grease, or loose particles. For optimal adhesion, slightly sand any rough or uneven areas.
- Measure and Cut: Measure the area you intend to cover. Add a small overlap of 1-2 cm on all sides. Use the grid lines on the film's backing paper, along with a ruler and sharp utility knife or scissors, to cut the film accurately.
- Initial Placement: Peel off approximately 5-10 cm of the backing paper from one corner. Carefully align the exposed adhesive edge with your starting point on the surface.
- Apply and Smooth: Gradually peel off more of the backing paper with one hand while using a squeegee, credit card, or soft cloth with the other hand to smooth the film onto the surface. Work from the center outwards to push out any air bubbles and ensure firm contact.
- Trim Excess: Once the entire film is applied, use a sharp craft knife to carefully trim any excess material along the edges for a neat finish.
Compatibility:
- Suitable Surfaces: Best suited for smooth, non-porous materials such as laminate furniture, painted wood, metal, glass, and rigid plastics. It adheres well to furniture fronts, doors, windowsills, and table surfaces.
- Unsuitable Surfaces: Not recommended for rough, textured, or porous materials like unfinished wood, brick, highly textured walls, or fabric, as adhesion may be compromised. Avoid application on surfaces that exceed 70°C, and it is not designed for outdoor use exposed to direct weather.
Care and Maintenance:
- Cleaning: Clean the film surface regularly with a damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive soap. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, scourers, or abrasive sponges, as these can damage the matt finish.
- Heat Exposure: While heat-resistant up to 70°C, direct and prolonged exposure to extremely hot items (e.g., hot pots directly from the stove) should be avoided to prevent potential damage or discoloration.
- Longevity: With proper installation and routine gentle care, the d-c-fix film is designed to provide a durable and long-lasting decorative finish.
