Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
This telescopic cooker hood offers two main installation methods:
- Ducted Extraction: Air is drawn in, filtered, and then expelled outside your home via a ducting system. This method offers the most effective odour and moisture removal.
- Recirculating Extraction: Air is drawn in, filtered through a grease filter and an activated carbon filter (sold separately, for odour removal), and then recirculated back into the kitchen. This is ideal when external venting is not possible.
Professional installation is recommended due to the integrated design of this appliance, ensuring proper fit into your cabinetry (dimensions H426 x W898 x D290 mm) and correct connection for either ducted or recirculating operation.
Compatibility
The Bosch Series 4 Telescopic Cooker Hood is compatible with standard kitchen cabinets designed to house integrated hoods of its specified dimensions.
Care
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity:
- Grease Filters: The metal grease filters should be cleaned regularly, typically once a month, depending on cooking frequency. They are often dishwasher-safe or can be washed by hand with warm, soapy water. Ensure they are completely dry before re-inserting.
- Activated Carbon Filters (for recirculating mode): These filters are not washable and need to be replaced periodically, usually every 3-6 months. Refer to your user manual for specific replacement intervals and compatible filter models.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the silver exterior with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can damage the finish.
- LED Lights: The LED illumination system is designed for long-lasting use. Should a light need replacement, consult a qualified technician.
