RØDE SM4-R Suspension Shock Mount - Black

The SM4-R is designed for RØDE microphones including the M5, NT5, NT55, NTG1, NTG2, NTG3, NTG4, and NTG4+.

While the mount is designed for specific RØDE models, if another microphone has a similar barrel diameter and weight, it might fit securely in the Lyre mounts. However, compatibility is not guaranteed.

The SM4-R has a 5/8" thread. A 3/8" adapter is included, which you can use to attach it to stands with a 3/8" thread. Most standard mic stands accommodate these sizes.

The Rycote Lyre mounts are a proprietary suspension system designed to isolate the microphone from vibrations and handling noise, ensuring cleaner audio recordings.

You can wipe the shock mount with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using any abrasive cleaners or solvents.

The shock mount primarily reduces handling and stand noise. For wind noise reduction, you would typically use a windscreen or 'dead cat' in conjunction with the microphone and shock mount.

The RØDE SM4-R measures approximately 117 mm in length, 35 mm in width, and 110 mm in height.

Ensure the Rycote Lyre mounts are correctly positioned and providing adequate tension. Some microphones may require gentle adjustment of the Lyre mount's grip.

Check that the shock mount is securely fastened to the stand or pole. Ensure the microphone cable is not touching the shock mount or stand, and use the cable management clip.

Verify that there is no debris obstructing the locking mechanism. Ensure you are tightening the lock sufficiently, but do not force it.
