Troubleshooting

Backlash occurs during casting.

Increase the magnetic brake setting or adjust your casting technique. Ensure the line is spooled correctly.

Reel feels stiff when retrieving.

Check for debris in the gears or bearings. Lubricate the gears and bearings with reel oil.

Drag doesn't function smoothly.

Inspect and clean the drag washers. Lubricate with drag grease if necessary. Ensure the drag is not overtightened.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Line Capacity: The reel has a mono capacity of 275yd/12lb, 235yd/15lb, and 155yd/20lb. Braid capacity is 520/15, 425/20, and 320/30.
Spooling: Ensure the line is spooled correctly and evenly. Avoid overfilling the spool.
Magnetic Brake Adjustment: The magnetic brake can be adjusted externally to control spool speed. Start with a higher setting and decrease as needed to achieve maximum casting distance without backlash.
Gear Ratio: The gear ratio of 6.1:1 offers a good balance between speed and power.
Care: After each use, rinse the reel with fresh water to remove salt and debris. Regularly lubricate the bearings with appropriate reel oil. Check the drag washers and service as needed. Do not submerge the reel. The lightweight graphite frame and sideplates provide corrosion resistance.
Compatibility: This reel is ideal for use with appropriate fishing rods designed for beach or surf casting and suitable for the reel's line capacity.
