Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup Instructions
- Preparation: Ensure your walls are clean, dry, smooth, and free from any loose paint or debris. Fill any holes or cracks and sand down rough areas. For best results, prime porous walls.
- Measure and Cut: Measure the height of your wall, adding an extra 5-10cm to the top and bottom for trimming. Cut your first strip of wallpaper.
- Pattern Match: For subsequent strips, unroll and hold against the first strip on the wall (without adhesive) to find the 53cm offset design match. Once aligned, cut the strip, ensuring the pattern repeats correctly.
- Apply Adhesive: Apply a good quality wallpaper paste directly to the wall section where the first strip will be hung, covering an area slightly wider than the wallpaper.
- Hang Wallpaper: Carefully position the first strip at the top of the wall, leaving an overhang. Smooth it down with a wallpaper brush or smoother, working from the center outwards to remove any air bubbles.
- Trim: Once smoothed, use a sharp craft knife and a straight edge to trim excess paper at the top and bottom.
- Repeat: Continue with the remaining strips, ensuring precise pattern matching for a seamless finish. Follow the hanging instructions provided on the back of the wallpaper label for complete guidance.
Compatibility
This wallpaper is suitable for most interior walls in residential settings. Its 'paste-the-paper' method works well on properly prepared plaster, plasterboard, and previously painted surfaces. While it is wipeable, specific suitability for high-humidity environments like bathrooms is not detailed; general guidance for wipeable wallpapers suggests caution in areas with constant moisture.
Care Instructions
To maintain the appearance of your Muriva Elixir Marble Wallpaper:
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the surface with a damp, soft cloth to remove dust or light marks. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the metallic inks or the wallpaper finish.
- Maintenance: Regularly dust the surface with a dry, soft cloth to prevent build-up.
- Avoid: Do not scrub or rub vigorously, and avoid direct contact with sharp objects that could scratch or tear the paper.
