Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Birkenstocks last for years, proper care is essential. When first wearing your new sandals, start with short intervals to allow the footbed to soften. To maintain the suede upper, use a soft-bristled brush to remove dust and debris regularly; if a deeper clean is needed, use a dedicated suede cleaner. Avoid exposing the sandals to prolonged high temperatures or direct moisture, as water can degrade the cork footbed and stiffen the suede. If they do get wet, allow them to air dry naturally away from direct sunlight or heaters, which can cause the cork to crack. The sizing is consistent with standard UK measurements, though the adjustable strap allows for slight variations in width and volume.
