FAQs

What type of door is this knob suitable for?

This mortice door knob is designed for interior doors only. It is not suitable for exterior doors or high-security applications.

Do I need to buy a separate latch mechanism?

Yes, this product is a door knob set and does not include the mortice latch. You will need to purchase a compatible mortice latch separately to complete the installation.

How do I clean the matt black finish?

To maintain the finish, simply wipe clean with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as they can damage the surface.

What is the warranty period for this door knob?

The Designer Levers Frankfurt Linear Mortice Door Knob comes with a 10-year mechanical guarantee, covering defects in materials and workmanship.

What are the dimensions of the rose and projection?

The rose diameter is 63mm, and the projection from the door surface is 69mm.

Can I use this on a fire door?

While the knob itself is durable, compatibility with fire doors depends on the specific fire door rating and the required fire-rated latch. Please consult with your door manufacturer or a building professional to ensure compliance.

Is the spindle length adjustable or standard?

The knob is supplied with a standard spindle. If your door thickness requires a different length, you may need to source a compatible spindle separately.

Troubleshooting

Knob is loose or wobbly.

Check that the fixing screws securing the knob to the spindle are tightened correctly. Ensure the spindle is properly seated within the knob mechanism.

Knob is difficult to turn.

Verify that the mortice latch is installed correctly and operating smoothly. Ensure there is no obstruction or misalignment between the knob, spindle, and latch mechanism. Check that the screws are not overtightened, which can bind the spindle.

Finish appears damaged or discolored.

Cease using any cleaning agents. Gently clean the affected area with a soft, damp cloth. If the damage is significant, it may require replacement, but check the warranty terms.

Knob does not engage the latch properly.

Ensure the spindle is correctly aligned with the latch mechanism and has sufficient travel. Confirm the latch itself is functioning as intended and is the correct type for the knob set.
