Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Before your first use, ensure you properly lace the boots, starting from the toe and working your way up. Adjust the tension gradually to achieve a snug, comfortable, and supportive fit without excessive pressure points. A double knot is recommended for security.
- Breaking In: Leather boots typically require a break-in period. Wear them for short periods during training sessions initially to allow the leather to soften and mold to your foot shape. This minimizes discomfort and the risk of blisters.
Compatibility
- Playing Surface: These boots are designed exclusively for Firm Ground (FG) natural grass pitches. They are not recommended for use on Artificial Grass (AG), Soft Ground (SG), or indoor courts as this can damage the studs, reduce performance, and void potential warranties.
- Foot Type: The lacing system and leather material offer some adaptability, but consider your foot width. *Info needed: Specific guidance on foot width suitability.*
Care Instructions
Proper care will extend the life and maintain the performance of your leather boots:
- Cleaning After Each Use: After every game or training, remove excess mud and dirt using a soft brush or damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Drying: Allow the boots to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not expose them to direct sunlight, radiators, or other heat sources, as this can dry out and crack the leather.
- Conditioning (Leather Specific): Periodically, apply a small amount of leather conditioner or cream designed for athletic footwear. This helps keep the leather supple and prevents cracking. Follow the product's instructions for application.
- Storage: Store boots in a cool, dry place. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape and absorb moisture.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Never put your football boots in a washing machine or dryer.
