Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Getting started with your Nike Initiator trainers is straightforward:
- Unboxing: Remove the trainers from their packaging.
- Lacing: Ensure the laces are securely tied to your preferred snugness. You may need to adjust them for optimal comfort on first wear.
- Try On: Wear them around for a few minutes to ensure the fit is comfortable. New shoes may require a short break-in period.
Compatibility
These trainers are highly versatile and compatible with:
- Casual Attire: Pair them with jeans, leggings, shorts, or casual dresses for a relaxed, sporty look.
- Light Activewear: Ideal with athletic shorts, capris, or track pants for walks or light gym sessions.
- Orthotics/Insoles: The standard insole is removable, allowing for compatibility with custom orthotics or aftermarket insoles for personalized support, if needed.
Care
Proper care will help maintain the appearance and longevity of your trainers:
- Spot Cleaning: For minor dirt and scuffs, gently wipe the affected areas with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and cold water.
- Deep Cleaning: For more thorough cleaning, remove the laces and insoles. Use a soft brush (like an old toothbrush) with mild soap and water to gently scrub the surface. Avoid harsh detergents or bleach.
- Rinsing: Wipe away any soap residue with a clean, damp cloth.
- Drying: Always air dry your trainers at room temperature. Do *not* put them in a dryer or expose them to direct heat, as this can damage materials and adhesives.
- Odor Control: To prevent odors, allow your trainers to air out after each use. You can also use shoe deodorizers or sprinkle baking soda inside the shoes when not in use.
- Storage: Store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
