While the Ariel 65 can handle significant weight, the ideal carrying capacity depends on the individual's strength and experience. It is designed to comfortably carry loads up to 40-50 pounds, but it's recommended to start with lighter loads and gradually increase as needed.

How do I measure my torso length?

To measure your torso length, start at the prominent bone at the base of your neck (C7 vertebra) and measure down to the top of your hip bones. This measurement will help you determine the correct pack size.

Is the Ariel 65 compatible with a hydration reservoir?

Yes, the Ariel 65 is compatible with Osprey's Hydraulics hydration reservoirs. There is an internal sleeve designed to hold the reservoir.

Can I use the Ariel 65 for air travel?

The Ariel 65 is primarily designed for backpacking and hiking. While it can be used for air travel, it's recommended to check airline size restrictions and protect the pack from potential damage during transit.

How do I clean the raincover?

Clean the raincover with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before storing.

What is the warranty on the Ariel 65?

Osprey offers a lifetime warranty on all of their products, covering defects in materials and workmanship.

How do I store the Ariel 65 when not in use?

Store the pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid compressing it for extended periods to maintain its shape and integrity.

Troubleshooting

Difficulty achieving a comfortable fit.

Re-evaluate the torso length adjustment, hipbelt fit, and shoulder strap positioning. Refer to the pack's manual for detailed fitting instructions.

Pack feels unstable or shifts during movement.

Ensure the hipbelt is properly fastened and tightened. Adjust the load distribution by repositioning heavier items closer to your back and using the compression straps.

Raincover doesn't fit properly.

Make sure you're using the correct size raincover for your pack. Check the raincover's attachment points and ensure they are properly secured.

Zippers sticking or getting caught.

Lubricate the zippers with a zipper lubricant or beeswax. Avoid overstuffing the pack, as this can strain the zippers.
