Setup, Compatibility & Care
To maximize the lifespan of your Dr. Martens, proper care is essential. Use a damp cloth to wipe away surface dirt after use. Because the boot features a combination of three distinct leathers (Old Harness, Wildgrain, and Buttersoft), it is recommended to use a neutral leather conditioner that works across various textures to maintain suppleness. Avoid exposing the leather to extreme heat or prolonged direct sunlight, which can cause cracking. When lacing, ensure you are using the heavy-duty cord laces provided to maintain the intended structural tension. If the insoles eventually show signs of wear, they can be swapped for aftermarket orthotics, though the SoftWair insole is intended to be the primary support system.
