FAQs

Is the Asics Fujitrail Vest waterproof?

No, it is crafted from lightweight polyester designed for breathability and movement, not as a waterproof outer shell.

Can I fit a large smartphone in the pockets?

The pockets are designed for standard-sized smartphones and energy gels, though bulky, oversized phones may be a tight fit.

How do I choose the right size?

Refer to the standard Asics apparel sizing chart, keeping in mind the vest is intended to have a snug, athletic fit.

Can this vest be worn over a jacket?

Yes, but ensure you adjust the straps to accommodate the extra volume of the layers underneath to maintain comfort.

What is the primary material used?

The vest is constructed from durable, lightweight polyester.

Troubleshooting

Vest feels loose or bounces while running

Adjust the chest and side tension straps to ensure a snug, high-riding fit against your torso.

Pockets feel difficult to open during high-intensity exercise

Pre-load your nutrition items during stationary setup to ensure they are easily graspable without intense digging.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Excellent freedom of movement due to sleeveless design
Lightweight construction prevents fatigue on long runs
Secure pocket placement keeps nutrition and phone stable
Ergonomic fit suitable for varied body types and intensity levels

Cons

Limited total volume for carrying significant amounts of gear
Polyester material may hold odor if not washed frequently
Not intended for extreme long-distance hiking or overnight gear storage

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To achieve the best fit, adjust the straps while wearing your typical running base layer to ensure the vest sits high and tight against the chest to prevent bouncing. Regarding care, the polyester construction requires consistent maintenance to remain in peak condition. Hand wash the vest in cool water using a mild technical detergent after muddy trail sessions. Avoid using fabric softeners, as they can degrade the technical fibers of the fabric. Always allow the vest to air dry away from direct heat sources to preserve the integrity of the material and any elastic components.
