FAQs

Are these shoes suitable for long-distance running?

While they feature high-performance cushioning, the Wave Prophecy LS is primarily designed for lifestyle and daily wear rather than dedicated long-distance athletic training.

How does the sizing run?

The fit is generally true to size for an adult male, but the structured leather upper may feel slightly more snug than mesh trainers.

Can I replace the insoles?

Yes, the insoles are removable and can be swapped for custom orthotics if required.

Are these waterproof?

The leather upper provides some resistance to light moisture, but they are not classified as waterproof shoes.

How often should I replace them?

The X10 rubber outsole is highly durable, but replace your shoes once the tread pattern is significantly worn down or the cushioning structure shows visible signs of fatigue.

Troubleshooting

Feeling of stiffness in the sole

The Infinity Wave plate is designed for structural support; ensure the laces are not over-tightened, which can restrict natural foot flex.

Creasing on the leather upper

Use a shoe tree when not wearing to help the material maintain its shape and minimize deep-set creases.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Exceptional long-term cushioning comfort
Durable leather construction
Superior traction from X10 rubber
Distinctive, eye-catching design

Cons

Substantial build weight compared to lightweight runners
Bold aesthetics may not suit minimalist fashion preferences
Firm feel due to technical cushioning structure

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To ensure your Mizuno Wave Prophecy LS trainers last, follow these maintenance guidelines:

Break-in: While comfortable out of the box, allow for 2-3 wears to let the leather upper conform to your foot shape.
Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove surface dirt from the leather. For the midsole, use a damp cloth with mild soap; avoid submerging the shoes in water to protect the integrity of the adhesive and materials.
Storage: Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, which can cause premature aging of the leather and rubber components.
Lacing: Use the top eyelet if you require a more secure lockdown for a narrow heel profile.
