FAQs
What are the dimensions of the bin?
The bin measures 312 mm in depth, 680 mm in height, and 540 mm in width.
Can I use standard bin bags instead of Brabantia PerfectFit bags?
You can use standard bags, but they may not fit the rim perfectly, and you might see the excess plastic hanging over the sides.
Is the bin dishwasher safe?
No, the bin body and lid should only be cleaned with a damp cloth; the inner plastic buckets can be washed with water and mild soap.
How do I adjust the height of the legs?
The legs are designed to be screwed in; you can adjust them slightly by rotating them to ensure the unit sits level on uneven surfaces.
What is Cradle-to-Cradle certification?
It is a global standard for products that are safe, circular, and responsibly made, ensuring materials can be reused or recycled.
Is the soft-touch lid mechanical or electronic?
It is a mechanical system, meaning it does not require batteries and will continue to function reliably without power.
Troubleshooting
Lid does not open smoothly
Check the hinge area for debris and ensure no bag material is caught in the latch mechanism.
Bin slips on tiled floors
Check that the non-skid caps on the bottom of the legs are clean and free of dust.
Inner buckets are difficult to remove
Ensure the bin liners are not overflowing or draped over the edges, which creates friction against the bin walls.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Sleek and modern aesthetic that acts as a design piece
- Dual bins make recycling and waste separation very simple
- Ergonomic design with adjustable leg heights
- Durable construction backed by high-quality materials
- Space-saving footprint fits well in compact kitchens
Cons
- The soft-touch lid mechanism needs occasional dusting to remain smooth
- Pink finish may show fingerprints more easily than darker colors
- Smaller inner bucket (11L) fills up quickly in high-waste households
Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setting up the bin is straightforward: screw the four legs into the base until secure and ensure the non-skid pads are firmly attached. To maintain the bin, wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth and a mild detergent; avoid harsh abrasive cleaners that could damage the pink finish. When changing bags, ensure the bag is tucked properly within the inner bucket to maintain the aesthetic 'hidden' look of the rim. Use only Brabantia PerfectFit bin bags (Size X for the 11L and Size J for the 23L) for the most secure fit and to avoid bag tears.
