Care Instructions
Proper care is essential to maintain the durability and appearance of your Carhartt Bartlett Jacket. Always refer to the care tag on the garment for the most accurate instructions. General guidelines for 100% cotton duck with a Sherpa/quilted lining include:
- Machine Wash Cold: To prevent shrinking and color fading.
- Wash Separately or with Similar Colors: Especially for the first few washes.
- Use Mild Detergent: Avoid harsh chemicals or bleach, which can damage the fabric and lining.
- Tumble Dry Low: Remove promptly to prevent excessive wrinkling. High heat can damage the Sherpa lining and cause cotton to shrink. Air drying is also an option.
- Do Not Bleach: Bleach will degrade the cotton fibers and affect the color.
- Do Not Iron: Ironing is generally not recommended for duck canvas with a Sherpa lining as it can flatten the pile and damage the fabric. If absolutely necessary, iron on a low setting on the cotton outer shell only, avoiding the lining.
- Spot Clean Minor Stains: For small spots, use a damp cloth and mild soap to clean the affected area.
