FAQs

Are these shoes true to size?

Yes, they generally follow standard adult sizing. If you have worn Vans Old Skool previously, select your usual size.

Can I remove the embroidered pins?

The pins are part of the artisanal design; they are intentionally distressed and attached to complement the shoe's aesthetic. Attempting to remove them may damage the upper material.

Is the sole really meant to look worn?

Yes, the purposefully distressed outsole is a key design element of the Souvenir series, intended to evoke a vintage, well-loved look from the 1990s.

How do I maintain the color of the beige canvas?

Keep the shoes clean and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Using a protective spray for light-colored footwear can help repel dust and minor liquids.

Can I use these for skateboarding?

While they feature the durable waffle outsole and reinforced construction, these are 'Souvenir' edition trainers. Their aesthetic details may be compromised by the extreme wear and tear of heavy skating.

Troubleshooting

Visible dirt on canvas panels

Use a soft brush to gently lift dirt, then pat with a damp microfiber cloth; do not rub hard to avoid damaging the fabric fibers.

Creasing on leather panels

Creasing is a natural characteristic of high-quality leather. To minimize, use shoe trees when not wearing the trainers to maintain their shape.

Losing traction on very smooth surfaces

Wipe the bottom of the waffle outsole with a damp cloth to remove accumulated dust and debris that may be obstructing the grip.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Distinctive vintage aesthetic with artisanal embroidery
High-level comfort provided by the Sola Foam ADC footbed
Durable construction combining canvas and leather

Cons

Distressed finish may appear worn to those preferring pristine sneakers
Light colorway is prone to showing dirt and stains
Leather elements require specific cleaning techniques

Setup, Compatibility & Care

To keep your trainers in top condition, follow these care guidelines:

Cleaning: Use a soft-bristled brush to remove dry dirt from the canvas and leather sections. For deeper stains, use a mild leather-safe cleaner on the leather panels and a damp cloth with gentle soap for the canvas.
Avoid Immersion: Never submerge the shoes in water, as this can damage the glue and affect the distressed texture of the outsole.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent the oatmeal-colored canvas from fading.
Protection: Consider applying a water-repellent spray specifically safe for leather and canvas to protect against unexpected spills.
