Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Timberland Field Trekker Low sneakers is straightforward:
- Lacing: Loosen the laces, slide your foot into the sneaker, and then tighten the laces to achieve a snug, comfortable fit. Ensure they are not too tight to avoid pressure points.
- Break-in Period: While comfortable from the start, allow a short break-in period for the leather to conform fully to your foot shape.
Compatibility
- Socks: For optimal comfort and breathability, wear with moisture-wicking socks, especially during active use.
- Terrains: Ideal for urban environments, parks, light trails, and varied paved or unpaved surfaces. Not recommended for heavy-duty hiking or extremely rugged terrain due to its low profile.
- Weather: Suitable for dry to moderately damp conditions. The leather offers some resistance to light moisture, but the sneakers are not waterproof.
Care
Proper care will extend the life and appearance of your leather sneakers:
- Cleaning: For general dirt, brush off loose debris with a soft brush. For surface stains, wipe gently with a damp cloth. For tougher stains, use a dedicated leather cleaner following the product's instructions.
- Conditioning: Periodically apply a quality leather conditioner to keep the leather supple and prevent cracking. This is especially important if the shoes get wet or are stored for long periods.
- Drying: If your sneakers become wet, allow them to air dry naturally at room temperature. Avoid direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can damage the leather.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Using shoe trees can help maintain their shape.
