Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- Lacing: Ensure boots are laced snugly from bottom to top. For a secure fit, use the top eyelets and double-knot the laces. Avoid overtightening, which can cause discomfort.
- Break-In Period: Like most new footwear, these boots may require a short break-in period. Encourage your child to wear them for short periods during training sessions before competitive games to allow them to mold to their feet.
Compatibility
These boots feature a Firm Ground (FG) outsole, meaning they are specifically designed for use on:
- Natural grass pitches that are firm and dry.
Important: Do NOT use these boots on artificial grass (AG), soft ground (SG), or indoor surfaces. Using FG boots on incompatible surfaces can lead to:
- Damage to the boot's studs: This can reduce traction and shorten the lifespan of the boots.
- Increased risk of injury: The stud configuration is not optimized for other surfaces and can cause excessive grip or slippage, leading to strains or falls.
- Reduced performance: The boots will not perform as intended on surfaces they are not designed for.
Care
- Cleaning after each use:
- Knock off any excess mud or grass from the studs.
- Wipe the synthetic upper and outsole with a damp cloth or sponge. For stubborn dirt, a mild soap solution can be used.
- Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which can damage the material.
- Drying:
- Allow boots to air dry naturally at room temperature.
- Do NOT place them near direct heat sources (e.g., radiators, heaters) as this can cause the synthetic material to crack or deform.
- You can stuff them with newspaper to absorb moisture and help maintain their shape.
- Storage:
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep them away from extreme temperatures.
- Consider using a boot bag to protect them during transport and storage.
