Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your boots last for many miles, follow these setup and care guidelines:
- Fitting: Ensure you wear the same weight of walking socks you intend to use on the trail when trying the boots for the first time. The five-eyelet lacing system should be tightened to secure the heel without cutting off circulation.
- Break-in Period: While comfortable out of the box, wear them for short walks before embarking on a long hike to allow the materials to adapt to your foot shape.
- Cleaning: After use, remove loose mud and dirt with a soft brush. If necessary, use a damp cloth. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
- Drying: Always dry your boots naturally in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat sources like radiators, as excessive heat can damage the Isotex membrane and glue bonds.
- Maintenance: Periodically check the outsole for worn-down tread and treat the outer material with a water-repellent spray if water stops beading on the surface.
