FAQs

How long does the WoodWick Vanilla Bean Medium Jar Candle burn?

The candle has a burn time of approximately 60-80 hours.

How do I trim the wick?

Allow the wax to cool. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch using a wick trimmer or scissors before each use.

What is PLUSWICK Innovation?

PLUSWICK Innovation is WoodWick's patented technology that creates a soothing crackling sound and faster fragrance release.

Can I use the candle outdoors?

It is suitable for sheltered outdoor use, avoiding direct exposure to wind or rain.

What is the best way to extinguish the candle?

Dip the wick into the melted wax pool to extinguish the flame. This prevents smoke and ensures the wick is ready for the next use.

Where should I place the candle for the best fragrance throw?

Place the candle in a room with good air circulation, away from drafts and direct sunlight, to maximize the fragrance release.

How do I clean the glass jar?

Once the candle is completely finished, and the jar is cool, clean the remaining wax with warm, soapy water.

Troubleshooting

Candle is not producing a crackling sound.

Ensure the wick is properly lit and the wax pool has formed. If the wick is too short, try using a candle lighter or matches to reach the base of the wick.

Candle is tunneling (wax not melting evenly).

Allow the candle to burn for 2-3 hours on the first use until the entire top layer melts. Trim the wick before each use.

Weak fragrance throw.

Ensure the candle is placed in a room of appropriate size. Avoid drafts and ensure the wick is trimmed to 1/4 inch.

Sooting occurs.

Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use. Avoid burning the candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

  1. Placement: Place the candle on a heat-resistant surface away from flammable materials, drafts, and direct sunlight.
  2. Initial Burn: Allow the candle to burn until the entire top layer of wax melts to the edges of the jar to prevent tunneling. This may take 2-3 hours.
  3. Wick Trimming: Before each use, trim the wick to 1/4 inch. This helps to control the flame size and burn time and prevents soot.
  4. Extinguishing: To extinguish the candle, carefully dip the wick into the melted wax using a wick dipper or a non-flammable tool. This prevents smoke and ensures the wick is ready for the next use.
  5. Storage: Store the candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  6. Compatibility: Suitable for indoor and outdoor use in a sheltered environment. Ensure proper ventilation if used in an enclosed space.
  7. Care: Keep the candle free from debris. Discontinue use when only 1/2 inch of wax remains.
