Setup, Compatibility & Care Instructions
Compatibility: The Kpatos FM601 tire comes in a specific size: 245/45R18 with a load index of 100 and a speed rating of W (XL denotes Extra Load). Ensure these specifications precisely match your vehicle's requirements, as indicated in your owner's manual or on the driver's side doorjamb sticker. Incorrect tire size can affect vehicle handling, safety, and fuel efficiency.
Setup: Installation should be performed by a qualified tire professional. This includes mounting the tire onto the wheel rim, balancing the assembly to ensure even weight distribution, and inflating it to the manufacturer's recommended pressure. Proper mounting and balancing are critical for ride comfort and tire longevity.
Care:
- Maintain Proper Inflation: Regularly check tire pressure (at least monthly and before long trips) using a reliable gauge. Inflate to the pressure recommended by your vehicle manufacturer, not the maximum pressure listed on the tire sidewall.
- Regular Inspections: Visually inspect tires for wear, cuts, punctures, bulges, or embedded objects. Rotate tires approximately every 5,000-7,500 miles to ensure even tread wear. For an all-wheel-drive vehicle, ensure rotation patterns are followed correctly.
- Wheel Alignment: Have your wheel alignment checked periodically, especially if you notice uneven tire wear or if the vehicle pulls to one side.
