The 15000 rating refers to the hydrostatic head, meaning the fabric can withstand significant water pressure, keeping you dry in heavy rain.
Yes, the Isotex fabric provides a windproof barrier to protect you from wind chill.
Wash on a cool, gentle cycle using technical gear cleaner. Avoid fabric conditioners at all costs.
Yes, it functions as a great outer shell; pair it with a thermal fleece or synthetic down mid-layer for warmth.
No, the hood is a fixed, adjustable technical hood for maximum weather protection.
The jacket features water-repellent zips, but it is recommended to keep sensitive electronics in a dry bag inside the pocket for total security.
The DWR finish has likely worn off. Wash the jacket with a technical cleaner and apply a spray-on or wash-in water repellent treatment.
Ensure you are using the jacket as part of a layering system and that you aren't overdressing, which can trap excess heat and moisture.
For optimal performance, ensure all zips and the hood are properly adjusted before starting your hike. The jacket is designed as an outer shell, making it highly compatible with base layers and light-to-midweight fleeces. To maintain the DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating, machine wash on a gentle cycle with a technical detergent specifically formulated for waterproof garments. Avoid using standard biological detergents or fabric softeners, as these can strip the breathable membrane. Always allow the jacket to air dry away from direct heat sources, and consider re-applying a water-repellent spray if water stops beading on the surface of the fabric.
