Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
Using your Reign On Parka is straightforward. Simply put it on and adjust the various features to suit your comfort and the prevailing weather conditions.
- Adjust the Hood: Use the drawcord to tighten or loosen the hood around your face for optimal coverage and visibility.
- Secure the Front: Zip up the VISLON centre front zip, then fasten the snap closures on the storm flap to create a secure, weather-tight seal.
- Cuff Adjustment: Utilize the adhesive cuffs to tighten them around your wrists, preventing wind and rain from entering.
- Hem Customization: Use the adjustable toggle hem to cinch the bottom of the parka, trapping warmth and blocking drafts.
Compatibility
This parka is designed to be a versatile outer layer. It is compatible with various layering systems, allowing you to adapt to different temperature ranges:
- Base Layers: Wear over moisture-wicking base layers for comfort during active pursuits.
- Mid-Layers: Easily accommodates fleece jackets or insulated mid-layers for added warmth in colder conditions.
- Seasonal Use: Best suited for cooler to cold environments where protection from rain and wind is paramount. While breathable, it may be too warm for mild, dry weather conditions.
Care
Proper care is essential to maintain the performance and longevity of your Reign On Parka. Always refer to the specific care label inside your garment for the most accurate instructions. Generally, follow these guidelines:
- Washing: Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle. Use a specialized technical garment cleaner or a small amount of mild liquid detergent. Avoid using powder detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners, as these can clog the fabric's pores and impair its breathability and water repellency.
- Drying: Tumble dry on low heat with a few clean tennis balls to help restore loft, or hang dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. Ensure the parka is completely dry before storing.
- DWR Reapplication: Over time, the Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish on the outer fabric may wear off. If water stops beading up and starts to soak into the fabric, you may need to reapply a DWR treatment, available as a spray or wash-in product, following the product's instructions.
