FAQs

What material is the Garfield Door Mat made of?

The mat is crafted from natural coir fibers with a non-slip PVC base.

What are the dimensions of the doormat?

The doormat measures 60 x 40 cm.

Can this doormat be used outdoors?

Yes, it can be used outdoors in sheltered areas like a covered porch or entryway. It is not designed for direct exposure to heavy rain or prolonged sunlight.

How do I clean the doormat?

Shake off loose dirt, then rinse with water and allow it to air dry completely.

Is the Garfield design officially licensed?

Yes, the mat features an officially licensed Garfield design from Grupo Erik.

Will the non-slip backing work on all floor types?

The non-slip PVC backing is designed to work on most common indoor floor types, provided the floor is clean and dry.

Is this mat suitable for heavy foot traffic areas?

The durable coir construction makes it suitable for moderate to heavy foot traffic, especially when used indoors or in sheltered entryways.

Troubleshooting

Mat is not lying flat.

Ensure the mat is placed on a flat surface. If it has been tightly rolled, allow it to lay flat for a few days to naturally flatten out.

Mat is sliding.

Ensure the floor surface underneath is clean and dry. The non-slip PVC backing may lose effectiveness on very dusty or wet floors. Shake out any debris from the mat's underside.

Excessive shedding of coir fibers.

Some initial shedding is normal for coir mats. Shake vigorously outdoors. If shedding persists after a few weeks, ensure the mat is not excessively wet.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Durable and effective at trapping dirt.
  • Features a fun, licensed Garfield design.
  • Non-slip backing provides safety.
  • Easy to clean and maintain.
  • Adds a decorative touch to any entryway.

Cons

  • Best suited for sheltered outdoor or indoor use.
  • May not be as durable in harsh weather conditions.
  • Size (60 x 40 cm) might be small for very large entryways.

Setup, Compatibility & Care

Setup:

Simply place the doormat on your desired floor surface. Ensure the area is dry before placement to allow the non-slip backing to adhere effectively.

Compatibility:

This doormat is compatible with most indoor flooring types, including:

  • Carpet
  • Hardwood floors
  • Tiles
  • Linoleum
  • Concrete (indoors or sheltered outdoor areas)

It is not recommended for prolonged exposure to direct rain or harsh weather.

Care Instructions:

  1. Shake: Regularly shake the mat outdoors to remove loose dirt and debris.
  2. Rinse: If the mat is heavily soiled, rinse it with water. A hose or gentle spraying can be used.
  3. Dry: Allow the mat to air dry completely before placing it back on the floor. Avoid direct sunlight for extended periods, which can degrade the PVC backing over time.
