FAQs
Are these gloves waterproof?
They are moisture-resistant, but they are not fully waterproof or submersible. They are best suited for light snow and cold, dry conditions.
Can I wash these in a machine?
Hand washing is highly recommended to protect the silicone grip and touchscreen-compatible patches.
Are these gloves unisex?
Yes, they are designed as a unisex fit to accommodate a wide variety of hand shapes.
Will the conductive fingertips work with a screen protector?
Most screen protectors work fine with these gloves, though thicker tempered glass protectors may require firmer contact.
Are these suitable for skiing?
They are excellent for cross-country skiing or warm-weather resort skiing, but they may lack the insulation needed for high-speed alpine downhill skiing in extreme cold.
Troubleshooting
Touchscreen sensitivity is poor
Ensure your fingertips are clean and that the fabric is pulled taut over your fingers. Moisture on the conductive patch can sometimes interfere with connectivity.
Gloves feel cold quickly
Check your activity level. Climawarm is designed to work with your body heat; if you are standing still for too long, supplement with a wind-blocking shell.
Silicone grip is losing its tackiness
Wipe the palms with a damp cloth to remove accumulated oils or trail debris that may be obscuring the grip pattern.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Excellent heat retention for active use
- Reliable touchscreen responsiveness
- Superior grip in damp conditions
- Lightweight and breathable material
- Versatile unisex design
Cons
- Not intended for extreme sub-zero temperatures
- Limited waterproofing in heavy rain
- Material may show wear if subjected to abrasive rock scrambling
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Adidas Terrex gloves remain in top condition, follow these care guidelines:
- Cleaning: Hand wash in cool water using a mild detergent to preserve the silicone grip print and insulating fibers.
- Drying: Air dry only. Do not place on radiators or in a tumble dryer, as extreme heat can degrade the touchscreen conductive materials and the integrity of the polyester.
- Storage: Ensure gloves are completely dry before storing them in a pack to prevent mildew.
- Fit: These gloves are designed for a snug fit. If you find them too tight, ensure you aren't tucking bulky base layer sleeves underneath the cuffs, as this can restrict blood flow and decrease warmth.
