Full details
The Dare 2b Torrek Lite Trousers are engineered for active women who prioritize mobility and protection during mountain excursions. These trousers excel in high-energy environments by providing a wind-resistant barrier while remaining impressively lightweight, making them a perfect companion for hikers and climbers; however, users should note that they are designed as a technical outer layer and may require additional base-layer insulation in extreme cold.

FAQs
Are these trousers waterproof?
They are wind-resistant and quick-drying, but they are not classified as fully waterproof gear. They will handle light moisture but are not suitable for heavy rain.
Can I use these for winter mountaineering?
They are excellent for high-output winter activity, but you should layer thermal leggings underneath to provide the necessary insulation for sub-zero temperatures.
How should I wash them?
Machine wash on a gentle, cool cycle. Avoid fabric softeners and bleach, as these can strip the technical properties of the fabric.
Do these trousers come in different lengths?
The Torrek Lite series is designed with a standard athletic cut. Refer to the size guide to match your specific UK size measurement.
Are the materials durable enough for scrambling?
Yes, the nylon-based construction is specifically chosen for its durability against abrasion encountered on mountain trails and rock scrambling.
Troubleshooting
Fabric feels restrictive during high steps
Ensure the trousers are pulled up correctly to align the articulated knee sections with your natural joint position.
Moisture buildup during high-intensity activity
Adjust your base-layer system, as the trousers are designed to be breathable, and excessive sweating usually indicates an over-layering of base garments.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Excellent freedom of movement due to articulated design
- Highly wind-resistant for alpine protection
- Lightweight construction prevents fatigue on long treks
- Quick-drying properties ideal for variable mountain climates
Cons
- Not intended for heavy-duty thermal insulation
- Minimalist design may lack specialized technical pockets
- Fit is performance-oriented which may differ from casual trousers
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your Dare 2b Torrek Lite Trousers maintain their performance characteristics, follow these guidelines:
- Fitting: Ensure you select your standard UK dress size; the trousers are designed for an active fit. Test the range of motion by performing a high-step or squat before heading out.
- Layering: While the trousers are wind-resistant, they do not have significant insulation. For colder mountain days, pair them with a synthetic base-layer tight.
- Cleaning: Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Use a technical gear cleaner if possible to maintain the integrity of the fabric fibers.
- Drying: Air dry only. Avoid tumble drying or direct high heat, as this can degrade the synthetic materials and the wind-resistant finish.
