Full details
The PUMA ULTRA NITRO 7 Ultimate FG is designed for elite-level adult footballers who prioritize explosive acceleration and precision ball control on firm ground surfaces. These boots integrate advanced NITROFOAM Elite technology for superior energy return and a specialized GripControl Pro upper for enhanced handling; however, players should be aware that their focus on lightweight performance means they are specifically optimized for firm natural grass and may lack the durability required for highly abrasive artificial surfaces.

FAQs
Are these boots suitable for artificial grass?
These are designed for Firm Ground (FG). While they may be used on some artificial surfaces, they are optimized for natural grass and might show faster wear on abrasive turf.
What is the primary benefit of the NITROFOAM Elite?
The NITROFOAM Elite technology is designed to provide maximum energy return, effectively acting like a spring to assist with your acceleration and overall speed.
How should I clean the GripControl Pro finish?
Simply use a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a tiny amount of mild detergent. Avoid stiff-bristled brushes that could damage the 3D texture.
Does the curved heel help with blisters?
The curved heel is primarily designed for lockdown to prevent the foot from sliding. However, by reducing friction caused by internal movement, it can indirectly help prevent blisters.
What does FG mean?
FG stands for Firm Ground, meaning these boots are specifically engineered for natural grass pitches that are dry or slightly damp, but not muddy or flooded.
Can I use these in the rain?
Yes, the GripControl Pro finish and the traction provided by the FastTrax studs make these quite effective in damp, rainy conditions on natural grass.
Troubleshooting
Accumulated mud affecting traction
Use a plastic boot scraper or soft brush to clear the gaps between the FastTrax 2.0 studs after every game.
Boots feel slippery inside
Ensure you are wearing high-quality grip socks to complement the internal lockdown features of the boot.
Stiff upper material
Warm up the boots by wearing them for light jogging before high-intensity training to allow the materials to flex to your foot shape.
Pros and Cons
Pros

- Excellent energy return from NITROFOAM technology
- Superior ball control via 3D grip zones
- Secure heel lockdown prevents internal foot movement
- Designed specifically for high-speed maneuvering
Cons
- Optimized only for firm natural grass surfaces
- May require break-in period for optimal comfort
- Performance fit may feel restrictive for wider feet
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To ensure your PUMA ULTRA NITRO 7 boots remain in peak condition, follow these guidelines:
- Surface Compatibility: These boots are strictly for Firm Ground (FG). Using them on AG (Artificial Grass) or concrete will cause premature stud wear and potentially void performance integrity.
- Cleaning: After every match, remove excess mud with a soft brush. Wipe the upper with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid using aggressive chemicals that might degrade the GripControl Pro finish.
- Drying: Always air-dry the boots at room temperature. Never place them near a heater or in direct sunlight, as heat can deform the soleplate and dry out the upper material.
- Storage: Keep in a well-ventilated area. Using cedar shoe trees can help maintain the boot shape and absorb internal moisture after use.
