The North Face Extreme Pile 2 Jacket is designed for adult men who seek a blend of archival aesthetic and modern performance for casual outdoor use or layering in cold weather. It provides substantial warmth and a soft feel thanks to its 315gsm recycled high-pile fleece, though its bulky texture may make it difficult to fit comfortably under slim-fitting waterproof shells.

No, the Extreme Pile 2 Jacket is designed for warmth and breathability, not as a windproof barrier.
While the material is warm, it is not waterproof. It is best suited for dry conditions or used as a mid-layer under a rain shell.
GSM stands for grams per square meter. A 315gsm rating indicates a heavy-duty, dense fabric thickness suitable for cold-weather insulation.
The jacket generally fits true to size, but the pile adds bulk, so consider your layering needs when choosing a size.
Locate the toggles at the hem and pull the drawcord to tighten the base against your body, locking it in place with the cord locks.
Gently brush the pile with a soft-bristled garment brush once dry to restore the loft of the fabric.
Ensure no fabric is caught in the zipper track and apply a small amount of zipper lubricant or pencil graphite to the teeth.
To ensure the longevity of the garment, always check the interior care label. Generally, this fleece should be machine washed in cold water on a gentle cycle. Avoid using fabric softeners, as they can degrade the pile texture over time. It is highly recommended to tumble dry on low heat or hang dry to keep the fleece fibers from matting. For compatibility, this jacket functions best when worn over a moisture-wicking base layer and can be paired with a relaxed-fit jacket if extra weather protection is needed.
