Setup, Compatibility & Care
Setup
- First Wear: When you first put on your Free Metcon 6, ensure the tongue and heel pulls are used to comfortably slide your foot in.
- Lacing: Begin lacing from the bottom eyelets, pulling evenly to achieve a snug fit. The Flywire cables will engage, providing a dynamic lockdown around your midfoot.
- Break-In Period: While designed for immediate comfort, a short break-in period during lighter workouts can help the foam adapt fully to your foot's unique mechanics, enhancing flexibility.
Compatibility
These trainers are ideal for a broad spectrum of gym-based activities including:
- Weightlifting (squats, deadlifts, presses)
- High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT)
- Functional fitness and CrossFit workouts
- Agility drills and plyometrics
- Circuit training
They are not primarily designed for long-distance running, though they can handle short bursts of running within a workout routine.
Care
Proper care extends the lifespan and maintains the performance of your Free Metcon 6 trainers:
- Cleaning: Wipe down the mesh upper and rubber outsole with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild soap after use. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Drying: Allow shoes to air dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use direct heat sources like radiators or tumble dryers, as this can damage materials.
- Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Consider using shoe trees to help maintain their shape.
- Avoid Machine Washing: Machine washing can degrade the materials and adhesives, compromising the shoe's structure and performance.
