FAQs
Is this mat large enough for two adults?
Yes, the 200 x 150 cm dimensions provide enough space for two adults to lie down comfortably or for a family of four to sit for a picnic.
Can I put this in the dryer?
It is recommended to air dry the mat. High heat from a dryer could damage the waterproof backing.
Does it come with stakes for the ground?
The mat is designed with anchor points; however, we recommend bringing your own durable ground stakes for optimal hold in deep sand.
Is the material waterproof on both sides?
The backing is waterproof to prevent ground moisture from seeping through, while the top surface is designed to be sand-resistant.
How do I fold it back into the bag?
Fold the mat in halves or thirds along the creases until it fits your preferred storage size; the durable fabric is designed to fold compactly.
Can it be used on concrete or gravel?
While it can be used on these surfaces, avoid dragging it over sharp rocks or jagged edges to prevent tears in the material.
Troubleshooting
Mat does not stay flat on the ground
Ensure all anchor points are utilized with beach stakes or place heavy items like cooler bags on the corners.
Sand is still sticking to the surface
Ensure the mat is laid on a flat surface and give it a firm shake; if wet, allow it to dry completely as damp sand is more likely to adhere.
Stains remain after shaking
The material is machine washable; use a mild detergent on a gentle cycle to remove deep-set dirt or stains.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Large surface area fits multiple people
- Prevents sand from sticking to the surface
- Waterproof backing protects from ground moisture
- Easy to clean and maintain
- Lightweight and portable for travel
Cons
- Texture may feel synthetic compared to plush towels
- Requires proper anchoring on very windy days
- Not intended for extreme high-heat insulation
Setup, Compatibility & Care
To set up the mat, simply lay it flat on the desired surface and use the integrated anchor points to secure the corners. Compatibility is universal across outdoor terrains including sand, grass, and dry soil. To maintain the life of the product, shake off excess sand before folding. If the mat becomes soiled with food or spills, it can be machine washed; use a gentle cycle with cold water and allow it to air dry fully before storing it in a cool, dry place to prevent mildew.
