The HP 17-cn3008na laptop is designed for everyday users seeking reliable performance and a larger screen experience without a premium price tag. Its key benefits include a spacious 17.3-inch Full HD display, modern Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and a comfortable full-size keyboard with a numeric keypad, all powered by an Intel N-series processor. A primary caveat is that it comes with Windows 11 Home in S mode, which restricts app installations to the Microsoft Store, though it can be switched out of S mode if needed.

Windows 11 Home in S mode is a streamlined, more secure version of Windows. It only allows apps from the Microsoft Store to be installed, offering enhanced security and performance. You can switch out of S mode to the standard Windows 11 Home edition if you need to install applications from other sources, but this action is irreversible.
This laptop comes with 4 GB of DDR4-SDRAM. It has 2x SO-DIMM memory slots, with 1x 4 GB module installed. While it is technically possible to upgrade, it's recommended to consult the official HP support or a qualified technician, as it may void the warranty.
The laptop comes with 128 GB of UFS storage. UFS storage is typically integrated and not easily user-upgradable. For more storage, using external drives or cloud storage services is recommended.
This laptop features integrated Intel® UHD Graphics. It is suitable for everyday tasks, video playback, and light productivity applications. It is not designed for demanding 3D gaming or professional graphic design work.
The laptop is equipped with a 41 Wh Lithium-Ion battery. Battery life varies significantly based on usage, screen brightness, and running applications. HP Fast Charge allows for a 50% charge in approximately 45 minutes.
The HP 17-cn3008na includes 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port, 1x HDMI 1.4b port, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack.
While the laptop can run basic games available in the Microsoft Store or older titles, it is not optimized for modern, graphically intensive gaming due to its integrated Intel UHD Graphics and 4 GB of RAM.
Ensure the AC adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and a working power outlet. Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds. If the issue persists, try a different power outlet or contact support.
Close unnecessary applications running in the background. Restart the laptop. Check for Windows updates and ensure all drivers are up-to-date. If in S mode, consider switching to standard Windows 11 if you suspect specific desktop applications are causing issues.
Toggle Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off and then on again. Restart the laptop. Ensure you are within range of your router. Check for driver updates for your wireless card via Device Manager. If problems persist, try resetting network settings in Windows.
Adjust the screen brightness settings in Windows. Ensure the power adapter is connected, as brightness may be limited on battery power. If flickering occurs, check display driver updates. Contact support if the issue is persistent.
This is likely due to Windows 11 Home in S mode. Search for "Windows 11 Home in S mode" in the Microsoft Store and follow the prompts to switch to the standard Windows 11 Home edition. This will allow installation of most applications.
