It is a technical shell jacket. It works well as an outer layer in mild to cold weather, but you will need to wear insulating base or mid-layers underneath for significant warmth.
Use the pull cords located at the front and the adjuster on the back to cinch the hood closer to your head for a secure, wind-resistant fit.
Yes, but use a delicate cycle with cold or lukewarm water and a specialized technical cleaner. Avoid regular laundry detergents and fabric softeners.
The pockets are designed with taped seams and waterproof closures to protect items from rain; however, they should not be submerged in water.
Yes, the TPU membrane is windproof, making it very effective at stopping wind chill.
MVP stands for Moisture Vapor Permeability. A 5000mvp rating means the jacket allows 5000 grams of water vapor to escape through a square meter of fabric over 24 hours, helping you stay dry from the inside out.
The DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating has likely worn off. Clean the jacket and apply a fresh DWR waterproofing spray.
Ensure that the zippers and hood are adjusted correctly. If you are overheating, adjust the front zipper to allow for additional airflow.
To ensure your jacket remains waterproof over time, it is important to follow specific care instructions. Always close all Velcro and zippers before washing to prevent snagging. Wash on a gentle cycle using a mild technical detergent specifically designed for waterproof membranes; avoid standard fabric softeners as they can damage the DWR coating. After washing, allow the jacket to air dry completely. Avoid using a high-heat tumble dryer. If you notice water no longer beads on the surface of the fabric, consider reapplying a technical waterproofing spray to restore the water-repellent finish.
